CAL and MDA launch scheduled flights to Mainland China

China Airlines (CAL) and its subsidiary, Mandarin Airlines (MDA) today launched new cross-strait flights to four cities in Mainland China, and upgraded other flights from charters to regular scheduled flights, starting with flight CI-511, which departs at 08:05 today from Taoyuan to Beijing.

Of the four new services that were added today, MDA inaugural flight AE-993 departs from Taoyuan International Airport to Zhengzhou at 08:35, while AE-991 departs from Taoyuan to Xiamen at 8:45, AE-989 leaves from Taoyuan to Ningbo at 15:45, and CI-561 departs from Taoyuan to Xian at 11:50. On September 1 and 2, MDA will launch the new flights to Shenyang and Changsha. CAL and MDA will christen the new routes using specially painted aircraft, including planes decorated with Taiwan fruit, Taiwan orchards, and CAL’s 50th anniversary icon, as well as aircraft painted in the signature lavender hues of China Airlines.
