China Airlines has signed a multi-year exclusive inventory logistics program agreement with Pratt & Whitney. Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners will be the exclusive part replacement and repair provider for China Airlines' fleet of PW4056 engines. The agreement is valued at approximately $60 -70 million. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.

Beginning on 01-Nov-08, China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines, will inaugurate direct weekend cross-strait charter flights to Nanjing. The initial flight to Nanjing, CI-7995, will depart from Taoyuan Airport at 09:30am and arrive in Nanjing at 12:30pm, and the return trip, flight CI-7996, will depart from Nanjing at 13:45pm and arrive in Taoyuan at 16:45pm on 01-Nov-08.

China Airlines announced that its new Kaohsiung- Manila daily service will start on 01-Oct-08. Flight CI 637 will depart at 09:05 from Kaohsiung, and arrive in Manila at 10:45. Return flight CI 638 will leave at 11:45 and arrive in Kaohsiung at 13:25.
