CHINA : Boeing and Air China Cargo announced (04-Nov-08) that the carrier will add three 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) to its cargo fleet. The modification work on the three Combi airplanes will take place at Taikoo Aircraft Engineering (TAECO) in Xiamen, China. They previously were operated by Air China.

CHINA : (Beijing) In May 2008, Air China (all the numbers here do not include those of Air Macao)’s passenger capacity, measured by Available Seat Kilometers, was 0.8% below the same period last year. This was mainly due to less demand brought on by the negative impact of the earthquake in the Sichuan Province. The Company dedicated some of its capacity for earthquake relief purposes, resulting in less capacity allocated toward normal transportation. The slowing economic development combined with the impact of the earthquake on the Western China market also caused traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres, to fall by 6.7% compared to the same period last year. Traffic in international routes, domestic routes, and Hong Kong and Macao routes decreased 3%, 8.8% and 18.8%, respectively.

CHINA : (CAPA) Air China and Asiana Airlines signed an expanded codeshare agreement, effective 01-Feb-07, covering nine more routes (in addition to Beijing-Busan and Hangzhou-Incheon) and 151 weekly frequencies. New destinations covered by the agreement include Beijing, Qingdao, Weihai, Tianjin, Dalian, Yanji, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Hangzhou. The airlines eventually plan to cooperate on all China-Korea services.
