CHINA : Hong Kong Airlines has selected Pratt & Whitney’s PW4170 Advantage70™ engine to power six new Airbus A330 aircraft. The memorandum of understanding, valued at approximately $470 million at list prices, includes two spare engines and a fleet management program. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

CHINA : Hong Kong Airlines has a total of 440 employees which consists of 140 cabin crew. Between 18 -Oct and 21-Nov-08, 13 cabin crew have resigned of their own accord and 8 cabin crew were terminated (3 of which has not passed the probation) due to unsatisfactory performance.

CHINA : Hong Kong Airlines will introduce A330 wide-body operations in 2009, providing medium haul passenger and cargo services between Hong Kong and cities in the Middle East and Australia. By the end of 2007, Hong Kong Airlines have placed a firm order for a total of fifty A330 wide-body aircraft and A320 aircraft.
